Help Build Our 400 Acre Animal Sanctuary!

Welcome to the Go Fund Me for building B.O.S.S. Farms - Built On Saving Souls.

We’ve finally given in to starting a GoFundMe because, without the support of our amazing community, adopters, social media friends and family, this build won’t move forward very fast which ultimately means fewer animals saved… and there are too many animals needing saving, so here we go!

We will have an official update page (BossFarms.com) and our first welcome video releasing Friday (04/07/2023) so if you’ve just found this page, please watch for updates so you can see in-depth videos showing progress! We will take you along the whole journey and be sharing the videos over the last few years of building as well.

The heavy lifting of this mission is already done and has progressed over the last few years. Properties were secured and purchased, which was a massive step. If you’ve followed anywhere on social media, then you know throughout the last few years the roads got the first cuts making the property accessible. The sanctuary sits tucked away in amazing rolling timbers with the closest city being Klamath Falls, OR. The property is in complete seclusion where the animals can truly be at peace. The property is 100% off the grid which means no power, water or sewage. Everything has been done to satisfy the county to operate completely off the grid. We will not rely on any city utilities or acquire any costs in the future which is a huge win for a self-sustaining sanctuary. Greenhouses will be started soon after development to grow all necessary food for the animals at the sanctuary and cut costs drastically. Coming from an extensive agriculture background farming since birth helps this area of building a self-sustaining property!

Since starting, the water well was dug and the well pump put in (some of you know how big a job this is) so there’s officially water! Total depth 240 feet.

All land plans, engineering, approvals and contacts have been finished and established. That alone has been a huge weight and one of the most expensive parts of the build but now we need to actually get to building the rescue areas!

This is where things get exciting and beyond the funding, it’s where the real WORK starts.

Something many don’t know is that almost everything is done in-house, nothing is contracted out for builds unless we are physically unable to do the job alone.

This saves hundreds of thousands of dollars over time doing things this way and cuts down development time not relying on any companies. This is also why we progress so fast and can save so many lives.

In the past, on my own, I built the downtown LA rescue facility and made it amazing, all for the city hate us for rescuing power breeds, aka pit bulls and push us out.

I built a full ranch outside LA for the county to come in and change zoning so we couldn’t operate nearly to our capacity. SAE rules to be specific…

There’s been nothing but roadblocks which is WHY I chose Oregon and where this dream will be built. The county in Oregon has on board with everything, they actually help us succeed in the planning and are excited about what we can bring to the community. Exactly how it SHOULD be! We will still rescue in CA and surrounding states, and that will never change. Just the home base and mission will change to make a bigger impact on how WE want to function and without fear of changing rules or zones like CA constantly does to rescues. Side Note: This is why SO MANY rescues are leaving CA, we are only one of MANY fed up and taking charge to move away from a state that makes rescue and sustaining nearly impossible.

Many of the phases of this build are going to be done at one time so we can properly place the animals on the property and have them thriving from the start.

Our main elements for this go fund me to be done are:

-Perimeter Fencing

-Road Work

-Foundation and Rescue Buildings

-Livestock Fencing

-Live animals vetting and transport

~Road work is ready to be done to finish the entries to the properties. The roads need to be able to handle constant animal trailers and large vehicles along with heavy traffic in and out. This requires a specialist (already hired), county-approved planning (done and right of way permit issued), lots of rock (pricing locked in- 15 belly dump loads) and lots of rented heavy machinery on the back end. Road work is projected to be $14,000.

~Perimeter Fencing is a large task as it will secure the property from sanctuary animals or dogs getting out. Containment is a rule of any sanctuary with almost any county, so we have abided by their requirements and are ready to get to work. Perimeter fencing and gates are projected to reach $22,000

~Foundation (concrete slabs) need to be in place for a barn and rescue building. After the foundation will come the actual buildings being installed. We have opted to go with metal buildings and building out the insides as Oregon has many more rainy or damp days than CA so longevity and perpetration are key. Foundation and Buildings are a large cost of the build since two companies will be doing the concrete slabs and installing the building… that comes in at a projected $79,000 (see the instant difference when we must hire someone to do the work!)

~Livestock fencing will be built into 4 sections and allow for holding areas for new rescue entries. Each fencing area with holding will be projected for a grand total of $16,000

~Animal vetting will play a large role to transfer the current sanctuary animals and dogs over the border. Each state has different rules and we’ve been working with the best in Oregon departments to see through a smooth and successful transfer. We will be reaching out to companies and friends for the actual transport/driving process but must be prepared for possible transport costs if help is not obtained. Vetting and transport can range from $12,000 to $24,000 easily.

~Another element of the first full phase of the build will be purchasing/installing water tanks, trenching, outdoor plumbing lines and food sheds for the animals, overhangs and shade areas, feeding areas and such. These small tasks can add up quickly and from experience end up totaling about $10,000 once all is said and done.

We have much more to go but this is just the start and what gets everything up and running.
