Welcome back, B.O.S.S. Fam! It's time for an exciting update on the progress of B.O.S.S. Farms. We are grateful for your incredible support and wanted to share the latest developments with our amazing community, adopters, social media friends, and family. Your contributions play a vital role in making this sanctuary a reality, where we can save countless animal lives. Let's dive into the details of what's been happening and what lies ahead on this transformative journey.
Building Momentum:
Over the past few years, we have accomplished significant milestones in the establishment of B.O.S.S. Farms. Properties have been secured and purchased, marking a crucial step forward. If you've been following us on social media, you're aware that the roads have been cut, allowing access to the sanctuary nestled amidst breathtaking rolling timbers near Klamath Falls, Oregon. This serene location provides a peaceful haven where animals can truly thrive. Moreover, the property operates entirely off the grid, ensuring self-sustainability and freedom from future utility costs.
Tye's background in agriculture has been invaluable in expediting the development process. The water well has been dug and equipped with a pump, providing a reliable water source at a total depth of 240 feet. All land plans, engineering, approvals, and contacts have been finalized, setting the stage for the next phase of our journey.
Oregon: Embracing the Dream:
Our journey to Oregon was motivated by a desire to overcome the challenges and roadblocks faced in California. While we will continue to rescue animals in California and surrounding states, Oregon serves as our new home base, offering a supportive county that shares our vision. The local authorities have been instrumental in helping us succeed in our planning endeavors, working collaboratively to create an environment where rescues can thrive. This alignment of goals and a welcoming community energizes us to make an even greater impact in the lives of animals.
Phases of the Build:
We have carefully planned the initial phases of the build to ensure the smooth placement and integration of animals on the property. Several essential elements await completion, and your support will help us bring them to fruition:
Perimeter Fencing: Securely enclosing the property to prevent sanctuary animals or dogs from wandering out. This is a vital requirement and an investment worth approximately $22,000.
Road Work: Developing roads capable of withstanding heavy traffic, including animal trailers and large vehicles. This specialist task has already commenced and is projected to cost approximately $14,000.
Foundation and Rescue Buildings: Constructing concrete slabs and installing metal buildings to serve as the barn and rescue facilities. This aspect of the build involves significant costs, estimated at around $79,000.
Livestock Fencing: Creating separate sections with holding areas to accommodate new rescue entries. The total expenditure for livestock fencing is projected to be $16,000.
Animal Vetting and Transport: Facilitating the transfer of current sanctuary animals and dogs across state borders while adhering to varying regulations. Costs associated with vetting and transport can range from $12,000 to $24,000, depending on specific requirements.
Additional Tasks: Purchasing and installing water tanks, trenching, outdoor plumbing lines, food sheds, overhangs, shade areas, and feeding stations for the animals. These small yet vital components will contribute to the well-being of our residents and involve an estimated total cost of $10,000.
A Journey Worth Taking:
While there is still much work to be done, the progress made so far is a testament to our collective determination. We invite you to be a part of this incredible mission, witnessing the evolution of B.O.S.S. Farms and knowing that your support translates into saving countless animal lives for years to come.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you. Without your generosity and belief in our cause, none of this would be possible.
